If so, join us for a 4-lecture course on molecular oncology, where you will gain theoretical and practical knowledge on how to use molecular techniques to diagnose, classify, and treat different types of cancers.

Eligibility: 

The workshop is open to anyone who has a basic background in biology or medicine, such as students, researchers, clinicians, or educators. No prior experience in molecular diagnostics is required.

 

Course Fee: 

BDT 3000 (includes all materials)

 

Platform:

The lectures will take place on Friday and Saturday evening each week over Zoom.

Expected Outcomes:

  • Learn the fundamentals of molecular biology and genetics related to cancer

  • Understand the principles and methods of molecular diagnostic tests, such as PCR, sequencing, microarrays, etc.

  • Explore the current and emerging biomarkers and targets for cancer diagnosis, prognosis, and therapy

  • Perform hands-on experiments using real samples and equipment in our state-of-the-art laboratory

  • Interact with experts and peers in the field of molecular oncology

Course Faculties

 

Dr. Mustak Ibn Ayub 

Mustak ibn Ayub received DPhil in Oncology from the University of Oxford.

 

He is currently working on translational cancer research in the University of Dhaka where he is an Associate Professor. He has extended experience on delivering lectures on molecular oncology to students and clinicians.  

 Jabed Iqbal MD, PhD 

Dr. Jabed Iqbal is the vice-chair (research) in the Pathology academic clinical program, DukeNUSSingHealth. He is an Associate Professor at Duke-NUS Medical School, Singapore and Senior consultant at the Dept. of Anatomical pathology, Singapore general Hospital, Singapore.
